Fred ZHANG
Head of Creative Arts

He is responsible for ensuring high quality teaching and learning across the Performing Arts Faculties (Drama, Art, Dance and Music), with a particular focus on leading school-wide performances. Fred previously served as the Head of Arts at Charterhouse College Shenzhen and prior to that worked at BASIS International School Shenzhen and Saltus Grammar School Bermuda. He studied for his music performance degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he was awarded a scholarship on entrance, teacher certification and an honorary award on completion. Fred also holds a National Qualification for Middle Leadership from the UK National College and has completed Cambridge, English as an additional language and Advanced Placement courses. Additionally, Fred is finishing his postgraduate studies with a focus on educational practices in diverse communities from the University of New England and is looking forward to continuing his work as a reflective educational practitioner. Away from teaching, Fred continues to hone his craft as a musician-educator through acting as judge, mentor, writer and as patron to the youth arts community.
